Supplier Code of Conduct

This Code is based on our values, which represent the set of convictions that govern our actions. Our values oblige us to act in accordance with ethical principles at the highest level and to do business in a responsible and sustainable manner.

The DAVON Code summarizes the integrated management system documents on business ethics, social policy principles and environmental protection. All DAVON employees as well as business partners are expected to follow this policy and these principles.

WORK AND HUMAN RIGHTS

TREATMENT OF EMPLOYEES, DISCRIMINATION

DAVON’s suppliers may not discriminate employees in terms of recruitment, work procedures, wages, performance evaluation or any other working conditions based on race, skin colour, ethnic origin, gender, sexual identity, sexual orientation, religion, disability or other characteristic protected by applicable legislation.

CHILD LABOUR

The supplier may not use child labour. Suppliers must not employ workers under the age of 15, with the exception of developing countries that are subject to an exemption under the ILO Convention (ILO 138) and the minimum age may be reduced to 14 years. The minimum age for higher risk work is 18 years.

FORCED LABOUR

The supplier may not use any form of forced labour and employees must always have the right to terminate the employment relationship in accordance with applicable legislation.

REMUNERATION AND WORKING HOURS

Employees’ working hours and all remuneration and compensation must be in accordance with applicable legislation, in particular legislation governing minimum wages, overtime work and other entitlements.

FREEDOM OF ASSOCIATION

The supplier is obliged to allow its employees freedom of association through trade unions and the right to collective bargaining in accordance with the relevant legislation.

SAFETY AND HEALTH PROTECTION

Employees must be provided with working conditions that do not endanger their life and health and meet all required health and safety standards (e.g. in accordance with OHSAS 18001 or the national equivalent).

ENVIRONMENT

Suppliers must carry out their activities in such a way that minimizes the impact on natural resources and protects the environment. They must ensure that their activities comply with all applicable laws regarding emissions, wastewater, toxic and hazardous waste (e.g. ISO 14001 or national equivalent). All products and services supplied must meet environmental, quality and safety requirements.

BUSINESS ETHICS

ANTICORRUPTION MEASURES

The supplier shall not operate or tolerate any form of corruption, bribery, theft, embezzlement or extortion or use of illegal payments or other benefits to the benefit of an individual, company or government agent in order to influence the decision-making process.

GIFTS AND BENEFITS

It is not permitted to offer or provide DAVON employees or any other person with any remuneration, service, gift or other benefit to influence the way in which the employee or third party will perform his or her duties. Similarly, DAVON shall not offer or provide any supplier with any payments, services, gifts or other benefits in order to influence the way the supplier will perform its duties.

COMPETITION AND COMPLIANCE

The supplier may not enter into agreements with other competitors or engage in other conduct that may adversely affect competition, including pricing or market sharing.

CONFIDENTIAL INFORMATION

Suppliers must protect all of DAVON’s information, electronic data and intellectual property by introducing appropriate measures. Our suppliers can rely on DAVON to protect their confidential information in the same way.

IMPLEMENTATION AT SUPPLIERS

Suppliers are required to ensure that the principles set out in this Code are also respected by their direct suppliers and will do everything they can to ensure they are also followed by other suppliers within their supply chain.

CONSENT, SUPERVISION AND OTHER PROCEDURES

The supplier agrees to the wording of this Code and is responsible for complying with this Code. Furthermore, it is the supplier’s duty to inform its employees and suppliers of the obligations under this Code. DAVON reserves the right to terminate the business relationship with suppliers who fail to comply with this Code.
